Create a Process That Fits You

The right process will get you where you want to go, without unexpected costs (financial, emotional, or otherwise) along the way. A process that works for you is effective, efficient, knowable, and tweakable.
There is no one-size-fits-all solution, because a process that fits you takes into account myriad factors specific to you, to now, and to what you need out of the process.
“Simple, powerful, but hard to do” -Rajiv Ayyangar, Founder and CEO of Tandem, a virtual office startup
Most of all, a process should be effective: it gets you the desired outcome. Defining your desired outcome clearly and specifically will reveal a surprising amount of how you should get there.
No one likes wasting time and energy. Your process should make good use of what you put into it, moving you deliberately toward your outcome and only incurring costs that yield movement: it should be efficient.
When you treat the way things work (process) as knowable, when you permit yourself to map them out and look at them directly, you cannot be helpless. I don’t think that seeing the process behind everything is a superpower, but if it is, I want to share mine with you. You deserve access to the processes that affect your life.
Once you can see the elements you can influence or affect, you can tweak them. Tweaks can affect the efficiency and effectiveness of your process, so this is where you can apply your scientist or tinkerer mindset and test small changes to optimize your process.
Maybe this sounds simple. Great!
Maybe this sounds powerful. Definitely.
Maybe this still sounds hard to do. Yeah.
You don’t have to figure it out on your own.
